Artist's Thoughts:
I’ve always had an affinity for our indigenous peoples here in America.
Even at a young age, I thought it would’ve been awesome to be a frontiersman or mountain man and totally believe I was born too late, as the late 1700’s to early 1800’s was the best time to be alive.
Not that I have anything in particular against Manifest Destiny, but during those days it was barely a thought in anyone’s mind and “America” was still very tribal, even amongst the many “aliens” moving in and across the “unknown” territories.
The First Nations were here before the rest of us and knew/know how to live off the land in such an intimate way. I have and will always have a great appreciation and respect for them because of this and many other reasons.
God made all mankind in his image and loves them all. We are all brothers and sisters under that banner.
