Description:
This is the original "Dawn’s Enlightenment of Hunts Past" acrylic and charcoal on canvas painting by Contemporary Wildlife and Fine Artist Nathan Goullette.

Artist's Thoughts:
There’s been many an early morning, hiking into an area or sitting in a man-made, ground blind, that I either constructed myself or just happened to come upon, and have contemplated, who came before me. I created this piece with those ponderings in mind.
Who was here last season, the season before or many more, further-reaching seasons past? What were they trying to get the jump on? Who were they trying to feed? Was it man or beast? Which am I; figuratively speaking? Were those bones I spied in the brush on the way in indicators that I’d find a “dead-head,” or did a lion, wolf, black bear or probably just a wile coyote hall off with that prize?
I hope this piece brings out some of those thoughts for you. I pray it helps bridge a gap between our past and our future, as we contemplate God’s creation and His calling of us to be good stewards of the land and creatures He’s provided His children.
